E-Commerce

E-Commerce can be defined as the ability to offer products and/or services for sale on the internet by the use of secure credit card purchases.

Banks have set up a system where both individuals and the vendor of products and/or services are issued security numbers. Currently available 128 bit encryption technology is used. Our understanding is that it takes mamouth computer resources available only in the US and only available to the government to crack the code. And, only after prohibitively long and very expensive code breaking runs can the codes be broken.

All this means that your credit card purchase over the WWW are probably more secure than most store and restaurant based credit card purchases where the card leaves your sight for the processing of the transaction.
